Sam Wise

BSc (hons), Spots and Exercise Therapist.

Sports Therapist

Sam is a passionate sport and exercise therapist here at Sheffield sports medicine and the head sports therapist at a rugby club in Leeds. He graduated from Leeds Beckett University with a BSc (Hons) degree in sport and exercise therapy and is a proud member of the Society of Sport Therapists. He is planning to go back to university to complete a master’s degree in the near future as Sam wants to pursue his passion of health and fitness further. He specialises in soft tissue work, rehabilitation, injury prevention and performance training. During Sam’s university degree he had the privilege of working in sport injury clinics, massage clinics and private clinics, giving him the experience, he needed to take on any challenge.

Sam is a strong believer that injuries occur for a reason and that reason can be prevented through correct technique and appropriate training plans. He is constantly going through up to date evidence to provide the most up to date and effective treatments to all his patients.

He has a wide variety of hobbies mainly gravitating towards sport; however, Sam has taken a keen intertest in Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) and has been developing his skills for competition for the last 4 years. Because of this Sam decided to do his dissertation on Thai boxing and has used everything he has learnt to better his own sporting performance.
